Upgrade Instructions
 | As with any
software upgrade, it is prudent and recommended to ensure you have a full
backup prior to upgrading
|
| Download the v2.2a installer(s) from the
download site. |
| Log onto
server\computer with Administrative privileges |
| If you have already upgraded to v1.5 or higher, you have already
made the Registration Conversion. After you run the
appropriate v2.2a installer (ensuring you install the upgrade to the
exact same location as your current version) you are ready to go
back to work. Reindexing your Indexes is not required but it
is still not a bad idea if you have the time or maybe schedule it
for the upcoming weekend. |
| To check which version you are running, from the pull down
menus, select Help and then select Help About. |
| Run the appropriate installer (Server,
Labeler, or Viewer) at each server\workstation and install v2.2a to
the exact same location as the earlier version. The installer
will update all the appropriate files. Please note, v2.2a
must be installed to the exact same location as the earlier version
to correctly perform the upgrade. If you have installed to
non-default locations, check and double check the "install location"
to ensure that it is correct for you installation. |

| If you running a version lower than v1.5, this upgrade may invalidate your registrations. Your
SERVER and all LABELERs may have to be re-registered before they
will be operational. We apologize in advance for any
inconvenience this may cause you. The server\workstation may
require a RESTART after installation. All of your indexes will
have to be REINDEXED before they will be operational. Please plan accordingly.

| All DIS-Imaging installations (Servers,
Labelers, and Viewers) must be upgraded due to indexing
enhancements. |
| After the Server has been upgraded, all
indexes must be REINDEXED. If you are using a database, it may
be beneficial to delete all data from the DIM_Index Table
prior to REINDEXING. Please call us if you desire assistance
in doing this.
