Features and Fixes in v1.5
 | Profiles written to .xml files
Each Profile is written to a .xml file located in the
\System\Profiles folder. Once a Profile is developed and
tested, it can easily backed up and\or sent to a client or another
SERVER installation.
|
 | Index Definitions written to .xml files
Each Index Definition is written to a .xml file located in the
\System\Indexes folder. Once an Index Definition is
developed and tested, it can easily backed up and\or sent to a
client or another SERVER installation.
|
 | Export Metadata to Text file
Any group of folders containing DIS-Imaging "Smart PDFs" can be
selected and a TEXT file generated containing the path, filename,
and Label Data (Metadata) for use outside of the DIS-Imaging System. |
 | Move Referenced File dialog can be hidden
At the end of the IMPORT command process, you are prompted to "Move
the Referenced Files". For most customers, the answer is
always "YES", move them!
From the USERS pull down menu,
UnCheck Ask Before Moving Referenced Files, and Check
Move Referenced Files. The
IMPORT command will hide this dialog and always move the files. |
 | NEW Registration
A change in your computer's IP Address will no longer invalidate
your registration. Unfortunately to enable this fix, your
current installation may become invalid and you will have to
re-register it.
Note: A change in O/S PID and/or Computer Name will invalidate your
registration. |
 | IMPORT TIF and JPG Images
The IMPORT command can also IMPORT TIF and JPG images and convert
them into PDF on the fly - ready to Labeled and Saved into the
system. There is currently a file size limit around 350kb and
the system may not be able to convert images larger than 350kb.
This is a known issue and is being worked on. Larger images
can be converted to PDF with Adobe Acrobat and saved to the \ScannedPDF
folder and then Imported into the system as a work around. |
 | Searches Ignores Comma's
Some customers Label "Smith, John", others Label "Smith John", and
others have a combination of both. We have taught the system to
ignore comma's so regardless of how your labels were entered (with,
without, or mixture) - searching on "Smith" will find "Smith" and
"Smith,"
|
 | Searching and Wildcards
A * or % character is a Wildcard for "many characters"
Searching on sm*
Will find
smith, smooth, smyth, smores
Searching on *all
Will find
ball, call, small, basketball
A . or _ character is Wildcard for a "single
character"
Searching on sm...
Will find
smith, smyth

 | Label Tab - Remember Previous Data
Minor bugs fixed. |
 | Auto Import
Minor bugs fixed.
Note: This command is only to be used by previous DIS, DISPro,
and eMRimaging customers to Mass Auto Import their older systems
PDFs and "bring" them into the DIS-Imaging System.

 | Apostrophes and Single Quotes
Within the database world, certain characters have special meanings
and label data containing these characters sometimes results in some
interesting yet undesired side effects when indexing to a database.
Single and Double Quotes (typically next to the [Enter] key on your
keyboard) are such characters. Many people will use the single
quote (O'Brian) instead of an Apostrophe (O`Brian) and most
databases will refuse to except O'Brian with a single quote.
When entering data that has an Apostrophe in it, we recommend you
enter the data with an Apostrophe (key above the [Tab] key on your
keyboard), don't enter the Apostrophe, or use a space in place of
the Apostrophe.
O`Brian or
OBrian or O Brian
